Michael Shannon on Boardwalk Empire, Pavement and Self-Flagellation

It's not every day that you get to interview an Oscar nominee, especially an Oscar nominee like Michael Shannon. He was so utterly brilliant in Revolutionary Road, that I've had an actor crush on him ever since. Naturally, he's wonderful in Boardwalk Empire (even if the show is only good 76% of the time), and so it was a real treat to talk with him about his role as F.B.I. agent Nelson Van Alden, what he thinks of the fact that women on the show are treated poorly and Pavement. Because of course a guy like Michael Shannon loves Pavement.
